A beloved Northwest Portland bike shop that caters to mountain bikers is closing its doors after 40 years.

Fat Tire Farm, located at 2714 N.W. Thurman St., has been a go-to spot for cyclists to shop mountain bikes, browse gear and seek bike service or repairs since 1985. In a Saturday Instagram post, the long-standing store announced it would be calling a wrap on the business.

“It’s been an amazing run, and we’re going out holding our heads high,” the post reads. “Thanks for being a part of our community here at the Fat Tire Farm! We’ll see you out on the trail!”
