🌟 Reflecting on the 2024 TechKnowledgy Conference: Mary Wilds Award! 🌟

We are still buzzing from the excitement of the inaugural Mary Wilds Assistive Technology Award for Innovation, presented to the remarkable Denise Orndorff this past November! 🎉

🥰 Denise shared her heartfelt gratitude, stating, “…I can’t fully express how much it means to me. Working with all of you has been such a rewarding experience, and I’m grateful for the support and collaboration. I look forward to continuing our journey together and learning even more in the year ahead!”

🏆 This prestigious award pays tribute to the inspiring legacy of Mary Wilds, our first VDOE Statewide AT and Distance Education coordinator who retired in 2016. Mary was not only a dedicated special education teacher and AT specialist, but also a fierce advocate for students with disabilities. Her creativity and leadership have left a lasting impact on professionals and families alike, empowering them to create accessible, low-tech materials for their students. 👏

Today, Mary continues to inspire as a fiber artist, sharing her talents in quilting, fiber arts, and weaving. 🪡
