Jose Eleazar Hernandez peacefully passed away in late February. He went to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 41. Jose was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He was affectionately known by his family and close friends as “Sake” which was short for “Sacred.”

Growing up in the westside projects, Sake was always drawn to surround himself with high energy.

The culture that Sacred grew up in was hip-hop. As a great dancer who wanted to show out and show off, he was always the center of attention.

He had hung out with the b-boy crew GWT “Get Wit This,” eventually joined LOF “Lords of Finesse” and made his way to DSK “Dope Style Kids or Kings.”

Later down the road, Jose got the opportunity to do business with The Roxy where he eventually created one of the best nightclub scenes Denver has ever seen. He went on to own multiple successful businesses including Stun Hair Studios, Corazón Gallery, & Bodega 44.

What we can all say about Sake is that all of Denver knew his name, and wanted to be his friend. Jose lived his life with intent and joy. His closest friends and family can attest that he would always be there for people when they called on him. Some even admit that Sacred fought hard for them. He was a trendsetter who put many onto the East Coast style.

One of his best characteristics was his loyalty. Sake had the biggest hearts and if he knew you, you were always family to him.

As a well respected man, he took many under his wing in one way or another, and helped them become the hustlers they are today.

Sake always looked good, smelt good, and had a fresh minty breath.

Jose always tried to help those he loved and never worried about the future but lived in the moments that were given to him.

He had a undying love for his children and made sure to show them how to be hustlers who make their own opportunity.

Sake had a pure heart and always loved hard. His amor will forever live within us, and through us. May we love on others each day with a open heart just as he did. We are forever thankful for his time here on this earth.

We love and miss you Jose “Sacred” Hernandez 🙏🏽❤️
