It's time to highlight our tenor saxophone section! Let's meet the leadership team:

Miguel Retto is a senior and the section leader for the tenor saxophones. He is pursuing a degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering with a minor in music. He has served as rank leader for a year and section leader for two years. "A great leader in my opinion is one that puts those that they are leading above all else. Those that prioritize the wellbeing and success of the group over themselves are what set apart good leaders from the great ones. Being a leader in the MMB has taught me how to incorporate all the great qualities we develop on the field into my day-to-day life - being a leader in the MMB has made me a better human for myself and for those around me."

Cameron Hempton is a senior rank leader studying Global Health Epidemiology through the School of Public Health. He has been a rank leader for two seasons. "Being a leader in the MMB has taught me the importance of really getting to know those who you work with. By developing close relationships with your section members and fellow leaders, you develop a high level of mutual trust and interdependence that facilitates strong bonding and effective leadership. The demands of every leader are dynamic and constantly shifting; the ability to listen to and understand the wants and needs of those surrounding you is what enables a leader to keep their finger on the pulse of what they should be doing to make sure everyone has a great experience and is performing at their best."

Anne Roesch is a senior rank leader studying Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Music. She has served as a rank leader for two years. "The tenor section is an amazing community within the MMB. We're a small group so we get to know each other very well through section bonding events like our annual cider mill and Cedar Point trips. The tenors are some of my closest friends and I'll miss them very much after this year."
