## Caption

Happy 32nd birthday to my horse Smoky today! I still remember the day I got him from a local man in December of 1992 when he was just a weanling. The man had a stud that was a son of Doc Bar and I got Smoky for just $300! 

He was a dark brown color as a weanling and turned into the most beautiful dark dapple gray. We all know what age does to our beloved gray horses! 

He has been the most wonderful companion for me. He is the perfect cow horse and my favorite memories with him are moving, sorting, and doctoring cattle. I used to show him when I was in high school. He always excelled in halter classes. I even dabbled with some team roping on him. 

Although he’s pretty much retired and living life here on the farm, I do plan to saddle him up one of these days. I haven’t rode since I herniated discs in my back and I miss it so much. 

Smoky’s secret to looking fabulous is sweet feed with molasses twice a day 😂 All of these photos are within the past year, most very recent. He’s in fantastic health. He whinnies when he hears the back door open like I’m going to forget to give him his feed 🙄😂
