On this #WildcatWednesday, we want to show some #WildcatLove with this Valentine’s Day spotlight to two #FVSU alumni. Mr. and Mrs. Alderman have both graduated from and are currently employed at Fort Valley State University.

As told by the Aldermans:

The two met in 1990 while working at Piggly Wiggly as a college freshman and high school senior. Mrs. Alderman didn’t give too much attention to Mr. Alderman at first, but after some sweet talk over bagging her groceries, Mr. Alderman finally won her over. The pair married in 1998 and have been together for 34 years. They attribute the success of their relationship to having similar goals and keeping God as the head of their marriage.

While attending FVSU as undergraduate students, the lovebirds were involved on campus. Graduating in 1997, Mrs. Alderman was an education major while Mr. Alderman was a psychology major who graduated in 1994. Mrs. Alderman participated in the Baptist Student Union Choir, Math Club, and was the 1994-1995 Miss Second Attendant to Miss FVSC. She is a proud member of the Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., while Mr. Alderman is a member of the Upsilon Sigma chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The two describe their time at Fort Valley State as fun and enjoyable, all while appreciating the lasting memories and friendships they’ve created.

Once they graduated, Mr. and Mrs. Alderman established their careers at their alma mater. Mrs. Alderman works as a math instructor. Mr. Alderman works as the Family and Community Partnership Manager. The Aldermans make contributions to the University as active alumni, by recruiting students, donating to scholarships, Wildcat football and the Blue Machine Marching Band. Outside of FVSU, they prioritize their friends and family, with their three children being the center of their world. Their two oldest children, Armani and Columbus Armand have matriculated through FVSU, while their youngest, Timothy, is expected to graduate in May 2024. Mr. and Mrs. Alderman’s spare time is also taken up by their one and only grandchild, Aria, who is said to already be a Wildcat at heart.
