#TSRCoinz: A billyyyyyy?! #DollarTree has reportedly reached an agreement to sell its #FamilyDollar business for $1 billion!

According to foxbusiness, Dollar Tree agreed to sell Family Dollar to a private equity firm in an attempt to recover from the company’s previous losses. While the sale is only a fraction of the $9 billion Dollar Tree paid for the company in 2015, CEO Mike Creedon says he hopes the sale moves the company toward better returns on capital.

“[The sale will allow the company to] fully dedicate ourselves to Dollar Tree’s long-term growth, profitability, and returns on capital.” Creedon says. “This is a major milestone in our multi-year transformation journey to help us fully achieve our potential.”
