Raider Tennis swept the Region Tournament this week with wins over Sprayberry (3-0), Creekview (3-0), and Pope (3-0). In the Region 6-5A Championship match against Pope, Michael Kurlyandchik won line 1, Drew Hanin won line 2, and Taichi Shimizu and Harrison Payne won line 1 doubles for the Raiders to secure the Championship. 🏆

The team will enter the GHSA State Playoffs the week of April 21 as the No. 1 seed from our Region.

Michelle Finley, a 10-year veteran teacher and coach at Riverwood, coaches the 17-member team. Finley has coached basketball, soccer, and swim & dive for the Raiders. She joined the Tennis Program for last year’s 2024 season, and the team reached the State Final Four. It was the first time they’d advanced to the State Tournament since 2019.

We are looking forward to watching this team compete at State again this year and hope to host a few matches at Riverwood. Let’s GO Raiders!
