## Caption

The travelling art exhibit, Cities of Canada: From the Seagram Collection of Paintings, presented by Seagrams Ltd., was displayed in the Crystal Ballroom from March 16 to March 27, 1955.
Calgary was represented in the exhibit by "Calgary in the Foothills", a 1951 painting by A.C. Leighton, which prominently features Palliser Hotel as a defining landmark of the city. From 1929 to 1959, Palliser stood as the tallest building in Calgary.

The exhibit also toured Europe and South America before closing and moving on from Palliser Hotel exactly 70 years ago this week!
