Coming to Goodwood | 1965 Austin Mini Competition Saloon to ‘Cooper S’ Specification 🇬🇧 

A highly successful historic saloon racer, this well-known Austin Mini has achieved numerous class wins and overall victories in various historic racing series. Badged as a Morris, the car was purchased by the current owner at Bonhams’ Oxford sale in December 2014. Shortly before that, it claimed a class win, second place overall, and the fastest lap at Brands Hatch with an impressive 58.7-second lap time—an exceptional feat for an FIA-specification Mini. Refurbished and upgraded by Gerald Dale Motorsport prior to its sale, the car featured a desirable Swiftune 1,291cc engine, a Maniflow exhaust system, and Koni shocks, with the engine having only been used once before the sale.

Raced actively until 2019, the Mini competed in numerous CSCC and Equipe events, as well as a season in the Masters series across Europe. In 2019, a comprehensive rebuild was undertaken, including a new bodyshell crafted by Mini specialist Bill Sollis, a lightweight bespoke roll cage from Andy Robinson, and a fresh Swiftune engine, which was only used for one season. Though it suffered a crash at Donington before the restoration, the car has since been meticulously maintained and stored as part of a collection since 2023. Documentation includes a V5C registration, FIA papers, roll cage and engine capacity certificates, and a file of invoices and pre-restoration photographs.
