“Let’s make sure that Canisius continues its great legacy of developing the talents of our young men, for the service of others, and for the Greater Glory of God.”

That was part of a stirring GAMBIT 50 speech by Tom Sheehan, who served as one of three GAMBIT 50 Co-Chair Couples with wife Liz (parents of Tommy Sheehan ’25).

That address preceded a great dinner and tremendous auction in the Bernard J. Kennedy ’49 Field House. That was the last stop for guests who entered 1180 Delaware Ave. through the Koessler Academic Center (also known as the Rand Mansion) and on to the Scaccia Auditorium, which hosted silent auction items and cocktail hour.

The golden anniversary of our annual blue-and-gold auction fundraiser gala was a tremendous success thanks to our outstanding CHS community, led by the GAMBIT 50 Co-Chairs – which also included David ’87 and Laura Gioia (parents of Eric Gioia ’25) and Mike ’96 and Susan Mineo (parents of Andrew Mineo ’25) – along with Director of Special Events Kelly Wilkens and GAMBIT associate director Allison Stravino.

An amazing Saturday evening concluded with the hundreds in attendance hearing students’ stories and then raising their paddles for the GAMBIT 50 Jesuit Promise Fund, which provides much-needed assistance to our students.

Look for more on those stories and the Jesuit Promise Fund tomorrow as we ask you – if you have not already – to join in support of the GAMBIT 50 Jesuit Promise Fund via canisiushigh.org/raisemypaddle

Many more photos are at our Facebook page.

We are immensely grateful for all those who attended and supported GAMBIT 50, and we offer our utmost thanks to all of the many canisiushs_gambit sponsors, gift donors and volunteers for making GAMBIT 50 possible.
