Crossing the block at Goodwood | 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello Coupé 🇮🇹 

With the launch of the 550 Maranello in 1997, Ferrari returned to its heritage of front-engined V12 grand tourers, reviving a lineage that had remained dormant since the end of the 365 GTB/4 “Daytona” in 1974. At its core was a 5.5-liter, 48-valve V12 producing 485 bhp at 7,000 rpm—over 100 horsepower more than the Daytona. To achieve optimal weight distribution, Ferrari employed a rear-mounted six-speed transaxle, a design refined through decades of engineering. The tubular steel chassis supported lightweight aluminum bodywork, while the independent suspension featured driver-selectable dual-mode damping, complemented by speed-sensitive power-assisted steering for a blend of comfort and precision.

Acquired by its current owners in 2022, this left-hand-drive 550 Maranello has been sparingly used and carefully preserved. The previous owner, based in the UK, purchased the car in 2016, reportedly from a German owner. Under their care, the Ferrari was stored in a protective bubble, while the current owners have continued its meticulous upkeep, keeping it covered when not in use. Recently, the battery was replaced, and the odometer now reads 94,980 kilometers (59,020 miles). The car comes with a well-documented history, including service records dating back to 1997.
