CASTING CALLS FOR KIDS 101: Why are we always casting twins!? 👯‍♀️

Most casting calls for kids are looking for twins for 1 simple reason: having more than one actor for the role allows you to boost your shooting time with that character in a day by up to double the allotted time! 

Per the National Commercial Agreement and the Independent Production Agreement - 
Minors shall not be continually required before the camera or under lights for longer periods of time during a work session than specified below: 

2 years and under - 15 consecutive minutes 
+ mandatory 20 minute break 

age 3-5 - 30 consecutive minutes
+ mandatory 10 (NCA)-15 (IPA) minute break

age 6-11 - 45 consecutive minutes
+ mandatory 10 minute break 

age 12-15 - 60 consecutive minutes
+ mandatory 10 minute break 

A FAMOUS example of this is both Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen playing the part of Michelle Tanner in Full House! 

Another example is both Dylan & Cole Sprouse playing the role of Ben in Friends!
