Led by the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN), the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC), and Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP), this initiative will use cutting-edge tech—think 3D printing, smart sensors, and advanced design—to ensure athletes have the gear they deserve. 🏒🏋️‍♂️⁣

Para athletes often face a major hurdle: equipment that doesn’t fit properly, is expensive, or isn’t easily accessible. This project aims to change that by creating innovative, sport-specific solutions that prioritize comfort, safety, and performance. Starting with Para ice hockey, the research will expand to other sports, making high-performance gear more inclusive than ever. 💪⁣

With funding from NSERC, Alberta Innovates, and key industry partners, this collab blends sport science, engineering, and manufacturing to remove barriers and level the playing field. “Access to the right equipment can be the difference between simply participating and truly excelling,” said Erik Groves of COPSIN. 📈💰⁣
