As we brace for the storm here in our beloved community, let’s look out for each other and stay prepared! Swipe through for 3 simple tips to help keep your food safe and your freezer cold ❄️ during a power outage. We’re all in this together. 💪

1️⃣ Keep the freezer door closed
A full freezer can stay cold up to 48 hours—every time you open the door, warm air sneaks in!

2️⃣ Pack with ice
Fill empty spaces with frozen water bottles, containers, or water-filled Ziploc bags. These will act like ice packs to keep everything colder longer, and also provide drinking water if they melt.

3️⃣ Monitor the temperature
A freezer thermometer is your best friend. If it stays below 40°F, your food is likely safe. Pro Tip: Freeze a cup of water with a coin on top. If the coin sinks, your food may have thawed and refrozen—better to toss it!
