#MarksMoments What may look like hundreds and hundreds of fur seals was not always the case for South Georgia Island. This remarkable island is a haven for wildlife, but in the past, the fur seal population experienced a devastating decrease due to the sealing industry in the early 1800s. Fortunately, the fur seals have now made a remarkable recovery and it is a privilege for us at National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions to share this extraordinary place with our guests every season.
