Last June, 2024 Grosvenor Teacher Fellow Rebecca Maynard embarked on an expedition to Alaska. Since returning home, she’s brought the experience back to her AP Environmental Science & Honors Biology students through experiential learning and citizen science projects—empowering them to make a positive difference in the world. 
 
“I was already passionate about environmental science, but being a part of the Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship really solidified the fact that we need to spread awareness about the impacts humans are causing on delicate ecosystems, such as the temperate rainforests of Alaska,” she reported. “It’s important to me to teach as many people as I can, in the community and in my classrooms, about the need to protect these beautiful places on Earth.”
