During our photo shoot these roses were placed on my body. As I sat there I thought about all the hands it took to carefully remove the thorns. Every gentle touch, every patient movement a reminder that healing is never a solitary act. It takes love. It takes trust. It takes people willing to see your pain and help you carry it, even when you struggle to carry it yourself.

I have been pricked. I have bled. I have cried. But I have also healed. And in that healing, I have found a deeper intimacy with myself a knowing that pain is not my enemy but my teacher. That I can feel deeply, break open and still rise.

To live life you have to embrace both the petals and the thorns. Which taught me that I am both softness and strength. That I can hold my wounds without letting them define me and in doing so it’s a gift to love and be loved, not from a place of needing to be saved but from a place of wholeness.

So if you are feeling the sting of your own thorns today I hope you don’t rush to cut them away. I hope you take the time to understand what they are teaching you. You got this!
