We’re continuing to prepare for January 20th by building our “mobilization toolkit.” Our last post acknowledged the power of local government engagement. Today we have two tools. The first expands on that, focusing on local representatives and how we can make sure they speak up for us.

For today: CONTACT ELECTED OFFICIALS. Our local officials are supposed to represent us and advocate for our needs. When we have a concern, want to know their stance on an issue, or want to influence their decision on an upcoming bill, we can reach out through calls, emails, or letters. Starting on the local level, our efforts can have a national impact.

Our elected officials are accountable to us, their constituents. We can demand transparency when we band together and make our concerns known. COC is dedicated to the fight for racial justice on the local and national level. We hope you will #CommitToJustice with us this year.
