What does it mean to be an American?

That was the question at the heart of America Unfiltered, which we proudly screened at the Kenneth Cole Gallery last week. Co-Directed by hmarquinez and kirillmyltsev, the documentary offered a raw, unfiltered look at the deep divisions and shared humanity across our nation—at a time when these conversations are more crucial than ever.

We were honored to have an incredible community of advocates and change-makers in the room, including the producer of the film, marc.brackett, and kennethcolereal, whose words captured the essence of the film:
“It was a great kind of inflection of a very interesting time in this country... to be able to show objectively two very polarized populations and, in fact, be a great mirror and not sit in judgment is very hard to do today.”

The evening featured a powerful panel discussion moderated by cynthiamcfadden, who led an engaging Q&A that explored the film’s emotional and social impact. We also want to thank lilycornellsilver for her vulnerability in sharing her story through Horacio’s portrait, composer oquendo4198, whose music brought the film to life and a special thanks to our sponsors dr.robinstern and pureedgeinc and refreshment providers drinkspindrift and purplesfulsnacking.
