## Caption

So many people asked if I caved and tested before my bloodwork. Yes, yes I did. This was the evening before. After throwing out all my home pregnancy tests after seeing negative after negative on day 5 post embryo transfer, I had committed to trying to wait until my official appointment on day 9. 

But I also wanted to mentally prepare myself before the doctor gave me those results, so I went out in the late afternoon of day 8 to buy a pack of First Response / Early Result tests, figuring any residual hCG from the trigger shot would be out of my system and that any indication of a second line would be real. 

I have to be honest that I was fully expecting another negative and had already begun to pre-grieve that strong possibility. 

Seeing a second line was both the most incredible feeling and also increased my fear tenfold going into the appointment the next morning— just praying that the number was over 50, and if so, that it would double in 48 hours. 

And so far, it has….😭🫶
