## Caption

Sharing the details of something as personal as IVF invites a wide range of negative public opinion, ranging from unhelpful  to downright cruel (I do my best to delete and try to spare everyone else from the worst of those when I see them.) 

Here’s an update on how I’m doing with my one and only transfer attempt right around the corner: 

- I’m a bit of a mess. I’ve thrown myself into distraction for the past few weeks but now everything feels very real and heavy. 

- In just a few weeks I’ll find out if a pregnancy is in the cards for me, and thinking about how the next few weeks will determine the rest of my life makes me bit nauseous thinking about the stakes.

- For anyone new, the reason that I can’t try again after this is that I have my next science spaceflight in 2026, so this is my final window of opportunity for a pregnancy before I have to put family planning on hold. 

- I’ve committed to sharing this process in real-time to give insight into what it’s actually like, and I’m hoping the internet can be kind during a delicate time.
