Indigenous peoples hold a deep, harmonious relationship with nature. While their cultures, practices, and ways of life vary, they all embody a fundamental understanding of humanity's interconnectedness with the Earth. On this National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada, we honor the wisdom, leadership, and positive environmental contributions from these communities to our world.

To protect our planet, it is imperative that we uplift Indigenous voices and follow their guidance with our conservation action. In support of this ideal, our partners at coastalfirstnations were selected as a beneficiary of the 2023 100fortheOcean print sale. Through their united network of member First Nations, this organization sustainably manages the land and waters of the North Pacific Coast. As the environmental health of these ecosystems flourishes, the Indigenous communities intrinsically connected to them thrive as well.

Our team created and shared visual storytelling materials with the organization’s dedicated leaders to help them uplift and expand their mission. It’s an honor to contribute our work to Coastal First Nations’ invaluable efforts, and we’ll continue to recognize their impact during this year’s 100 for the Ocean live event on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
