A clip from an expedition I took to São Tomé some years ago: needless to say, weather wasn’t all that ideal… 

This trip was a “failure” by traditional standards; we did not manage to free climb the route we set out to achieve - as you can see, it was quite wet - yet like most of my experiences with failure, it was a pivotal learning point for me on many accounts.

It stretched my understanding of communication, empathy, egos, team dynamics; and perhaps above all else, about acceptance of what is given, and use it as a building block for what can be applied in the future.

A portion of this experience is featured in my new documentary, Here to Climb, which is streaming on HBO/MAX across North America; and it is available to stream on RedbullTV everywhere else.
