#OnThisDay in 1986: Following its success on London’s West End, Les Misérables had its U.S. premiere in the Kennedy Center Opera House. 

Les Mis opened soon after on the Great White Way before returning to the Center as the first stop on its national tour in 1988. Explore some images from the pre-Broadway try-out of Les Mis along with a shot of patrons eagerly lining up to buy tickets a couple of months earlier.
