The news of the company’s insolvency led to a traffic surge on their website after thousands of customers demanded their personal data be deleted. ⁣
23andMe used DNA samples from users, taken from hair or nails, to trace personal family trees and highlight potential predispositions to genetic diseases. ⁣

"Our website experienced some issues and delays due to increased traffic, as of Tuesday, those issues have been resolved. If anyone has any issues in regards to accessing their account or deleting their data, they can go to our customer care site for support," a 23andMe spokesperson said.⁣
