Who is the mysterious Gray Lion? 

In Voltron: The Third Dimension episode 6, Shades of Gray (a totally innocent title at the time!) Hunk betrays Voltron Force thanks to Haggar and... Pidge? 

Yes, when Hunk nearly drops a hunk of metal on his little buddy, the Green Lion pilot lets him have it. 

"You sprocket head," Pidge says. "Your muscles must have invaded your brain, Hunk-head." 

After a few more insults, Hunk tells Pidge that the dumb jokes need to stop, then heads off on a shopping trip to get some alone time. 

Lotor and Haggar catch wind of Hunk's hurt his feelings and use it to corrupt him magically. Because of Hunk's connection to Yellow Lion, it's corrupted too! 

Hunk in the now Gray Lion ambushes his teammates, who quickly work out their attacker's identity. Now, not only is forming Voltron not an option, but they can't use the Lions' best weapons for fear of hurting their friend! Lotor takes advantage of the situation and attacks Galaxy Garrison.

Pidge's relentless attempts to save his friend redeems him in Hunk's eyes. This allows Yellow pilot to overcome his brainwashing, and together Voltron defeats Lotor's latest Robeast.
