In front of a roaring home crowd at the National Stadium in Kingston, Danielle Williams etched her name in history, becoming the first Jamaican Grand Slam Champion. Williams won the women’s 100m in 11.54 seconds, edging out fellow Jamaican Ackera Nugent in a thrilling finish.

Adding to her second-place finish in the 100m hurdles (12.70), Williams tallied a total of 20 points, securing the top spot and the US$100,000 prize.
