#FuryServes proudly honors Malissa Thomas-St. Clair as a 2025 #SHEroesAmongUs award winner, on behalf of Nationwide.

Thomas-St. Clair is a dedicated educator, mentor, community advocate, and the Founder and CEO of Mothers of Murdered Columbus Children (MOMCC). A lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio, Malissa’s deep-rooted connection to the city fuels her passion for change.

In 2013, her son, Anthony, was senselessly murdered at the age of 22. Channeling her grief into action, she turned to community advocacy, using her platform as an educator to guide and inspire young people toward positive choices. Her mission is to create a legacy that eradicates the violence that claimed her son’s life, ensuring that Columbus becomes a safer place for future generations. The heartbeat of the work is reducing crime that results in homicide to under 100 each year.

With a 26-year career in education with Columbus City Schools, Malissa is a mentor and coach who believes in the power of youth empowerment and community engagement. Through MOMCC, she embodies the organization’s philosophy of "Pain to Purpose" and "Learning to Live Again", offering hope and healing to mothers navigating the devastating loss of a child.

Thank you Malissa for your service to the community!
