We're exploring the rich artistic heritage of the Himalayas through the Rubin Museum's inaugural Distinguished Lecture event, today, Tuesday 12/10, from 6-7pm!

This annual lecture is made possible by a long-term partnership with the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art and will be hosted at metmuseum, this annual event features expert insights into the region’s art, culture, and history, fostering deeper connections with these timeless traditions.

Guests will join scholar Robert Linrothe to explore the connection between "outer" and "inner" mandalas. In the Himalayas, these "power objects" are known to dispense blessings and are the focus of rituals, offerings, and advanced spiritual training. Take a deep dive into the Met’s exhibition "Mandalas: Mapping the Buddhist Art of Tibet" and learn about Tibetan Buddhist siddhas, mahasiddhas, and mandalas from one of the world's leading scholars.

Registration for in-person attendance is at capacity, but registration to attend via livestream is available through the link in our bio. The lecture will also be recorded and made available on our website at a later date!
