"Love is the mortar that binds people, culture, stories, and histories together through generations," says artist Eve-Lauryn Little Shell LaFountain (songsoffilm). "This pyramid of apples is a reminder of when Jews were slaves building pyramids in Egypt. It is also a celebration of Rosh Hashanah as honey drips over the apples in the traditional celebration of a sweet new year. The Hebrew on the top of the image is L'Shana Tova, a greeting said during this time wishing for a good new year. There is always a balance in remembering hard times while celebrating the sweetness of life."

“Love is Mortar” by Eve-Lauryn Little Shell LaFountain been installed in Boston, MA in partnership with orange_barrel_media for The Highest Form of Wisdom is Kindness, a For Freedoms campaign aimed at combating antisemitism. Prompted as a rebuttal to alarming rates of violence and hate speech directed toward Jewish people, each billboard was created to affirm our collective commitment to freedom of worship and the principles of justice.
