Speed Golf is a version of golf that takes into account your score and time.  So if you shot a round of 80 in 60 minutes, your speed golf score would be 140. Speed Golfers only carry 4 to 6 clubs and use specialised lightweight bags for maximum efficiency and speed. Being an effective speed golf player requires high levels of accuracy. Hitting the fairway means that you save time searching for balls and hitting provisionals. You also need to be really fit. Not only do you need to run for 18 holes, but you also need to catch your breath to hit the best shot possible! Speed Golf has official tournaments worldwide, with the Speedgolf USA Tour, the British Speedgolf Championship, and the World Speedgolf Championships. Tournament formats can also vary from traditional speed golf which is the lowest combined score, to purely time based competitions. The speed golf world record proves that you don’t have to take your time to go low. Scott Dawley shot a 5 under par 65 in just 42 minutes and 15 seconds!  Meanwhile, the fastest time to complete 18 holes was just 27 minutes and 9 seconds by James Carvill. It took PGA Tour players longer than that to play a single hole last weekend!
