Georgia angler Travis Harrell caught a massive striped bass in March while fishing a tailrace stretch of the Flint River near Albany.⁠

The fish breaks a 42-year-old river record. Harrell’s fish officially weighed 52.2 pounds, with a 47.5-inch length and a 35-inch girth. This shatters the old Flint River striper record, a 48.5-pounder caught in 1983.⁠
