On April 9 at approximately 9:14 a.m., special agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's State Bureau of Investigation responded to the Alabama State House in Montgomery following the discovery of three suspicious letters addressed to lawmakers. 

A fourth was sent to Gov. Ivey's office.

Agents identified a person of interest and launched an investigation.

John Watson, 54, of Dothan, was arrested and charged with four counts of dissemination of child pornography. Watson, a former driver license examiner with ALEA's Driver License Division, was placed on mandatory leave the same day the investigation began.

He was booked into the Houston County Jail without bond.
