These peaceful "sea cows" may have inspired mermaid legends, but in reality, they spend much of their days grazing on seagrass and floating effortlessly through the water. 🌊🌿 

Sadly, Florida manatees continue  to face numerous threats, including habitat loss and pollution, the loss of seagrass beds — their primary source of food — and human activities such as boat strikes and entanglements in fishing gear.
