Highlights include ⬇️

Kick-off BHM with a celebration of African & Caribbean culture with glasgowunisrc this Friday at 5:30pm hunterianglasgow!

On Thursday 10th 6pm, find out about repatriating a 170-year-old Giant Jamaican Galliwasp from the Hunterian collection to its rightful home in Jamaica. 

Join the Global Majority Network and UofG Equality for a half-day seminar on the 10th exploring this year’s BHM theme, “Reclaiming Narratives.” Speakers include Dr Azra Meadows, Dr Zayba Ghazali Mohammed, Dr Tawona Sithole, and Rozeena Arif. 

Professor Patricia Hill Collins delivers the inaugural University of Glasgow Racial Justice Lecture- Racial Justice Lecture: Black Youth, Violence and Political Activism. Hosted by UofG Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli at the JMS Learning Hub on Monday 14 October, 6:30 - 8pm.

The Beniba Centre for Slavery Studies, uofgartshums, uofgcriticalstudies, and UofGCulture present ‘Blackness as Resistance’ on Wednesday, 16 October at 6pm qmunion, exploring black cultures, identities and experiences from different geographical spaces and perspectives through poetry and conversation.
