## Caption

This is what a round of injections looks like using a catheter for needle-free IVF. Due to my injury, I was experiencing major needle fatigue, so I was grateful to have this option. It is 100% as effective as IVF with needles, and 70% of rachel.mandelbaum.md patients opt to go needle-free! Here are a few more of my most asked questions:

1. Does it hurt? Inserting the catheter felt like a tiny pinch. After that I didn’t notice it at all. Menopur burns when it’s injected (needle or not) so I always needed a few deep breaths when injecting that medicine. 

2. How did it affect my training? Because of my injury, I was not doing any running or jumping, so I was able to do my normal rehab and strength program, and my cardio was done on the assault bike or in the pool. 

3. Why are you doing IVF? I’m 37 and I wanted to increase my chances of being able to get pregnant after I retire from soccer. Another reason is that my husband has a genetic condition (Marfan Syndrome) that our embryos can be screened for.
