For this week’s at-home #DJspotlight we’re featuring Space Granny! In addition to her show, Space Granny does art for KCPR. 

As for what you can expect her to play, “I like to throw in a wide range of genres, but you can always count on Yo La Tengo, The Cocteau Twins, and @thebaberainbow to be in the mix. I like to start off with a mellow sound but then work my way into some more upbeat stuff later in my show.”

The album that’s gotten Space Granny through quarantine? “Fiona Apple’s ‘Fetch the Bolt Cutters.’ Hands down.  This is such a powerful album and I always appreciate some good percussion.”

We also asked Space Granny about any recording rituals she has. “I always record in the dark, and after having a nice cup of tea!”
