What an incredible experience for the billcosfordcinema to be a host for the miamifilm! 🙌🍿 

🎥 George V., the work of umcinarts faculty Dia Kontaxis, Dennis Scholl & Ed Talavera, took home the reelsouthdocs Short Film Award! The film celebrated the discovery of a Ukrainian immigrant’s, artistic talent in South Beach.

🎬 Documentary, M.F.A. student Oana Martisca’s newswithoutanewsroom debuted and examined the evolution of journalism in the digital age with perspectives from experts like leonardpittsjr, maggiesteber & more! 

📽️ aguadillamovie, directed by Professor Tom Musca and his son (and SoC alumnus) Alex Musca, told the story of Dominican immigrants seeking a better life in Puerto Rico. 

📹 The Cosford also hosted the UM Documentary Short Award where viewfromthefloormovie was selected as the winning documentary!

A huge congratulations to all the filmmakers, faculty, and students who made this year’s festival so impactful!
