🗣️ “The number one thing we try to emphasize in our program — what you learn here is how to do something with a high level of intention and purpose.”

Another “Office Hours” episode on The CITIUS MAG Podcast brings us to coach @chris.miltenberg, who has helped @unctrack_field climb to the top of the @accsports podium in cross country, indoor and outdoor track while also re-establishing the Tar Heels as a legitimate national contender.

He’s coached @parkerw19 to UNC’s first-ever 5000m outdoor national title, signed the program’s highest ranked recruiting class and has built a culture of buy-in, belief, and bold ambition. Most recently, he’s coming off an indoor season where @ethan_strand broke the collegiate records in the 3000m and mile before taking the NCAA 3000m title. @makayla.paige_ won the women’s 800m to become the Tar Heels’ first women’s NCAA champion since 2018.

But this isn’t just a North Carolina story; Miltenberg’s impact has been felt at every stop. At @stanfordxctf, he led the Cardinals to a top five program of the year finish and coached national champions and stars like @grantfisher_, @spmcgorty12, @jesstonn and @elise.cranny. At @hoyastrack, he guided the Hoyas to the 2011 NCAA Women’s Cross Country title with the team that was led by @emilyinfeld.

▶️ Tune in for a conversation on what he’s building in Chapel Hill, his approach to culture, his thought approach to an athlete’s long term development and much more.
