That’s a wrap! TKS students and alumni from over 60 countries worldwide took 2022 by storm!

Here are a few highlights from the past year… 

✔️ 78% of current students are working on a TKS Focus (👀 our recent post to find out what that means)

✔️ 18 TKS alumni collaborated on Moonshot projects at X, The Moonshot Factory (formerly Google X). They came up with solutions like early cancer detection through non-invasive biomarkers in the blood and solar desalination to increase potable water in water-scarce regions. 

✔️ TKS students and alumni attended major tech conferences around the world, including websummit, collisionconfhq, elevatetechca, sxsw and more. They shared insights from projects they built using emerging technologies in front of thousands on stage, and got to practice their networking skills with world-class innovators.

✔️ 18 TKS students attended the gairdnerawards during the 2022 Gairdner Science Week, a precursor to the Nobel Prize. They met Dr. katalin_kariko, whose scientific discoveries made possible the rapid development of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines.

✔️ 2 TKS alumni visited and presented at globalcitizenforum in Dubai, connecting with other innovators from around the world on the topic of how everyone can act as a catalyst for significant impact.

✔️ TKS students secured internships at companies like bluelabs_, Deep Genomics, emotiv,  generalfusion, interac, Kira Systems, nasa, spacex and more!

✔️ 600 first-year TKS students worked in teams to submit their Challenge ideas to 3 billion-dollar companies in the retail and banking industries, including cibc, which could solve real problems these companies face. 

But our favorite highlight is the growing TKS community - 2,500+ students and alumni strong. In 2022, we saw more students finding their tribe of like-minded people to support them on their impact-driven journeys and forming connections that will last a lifetime.
