y’all probably didn’t miss my book reviews but I did 😭 This is book 6 of 25 for the #tfbwlreadingchallenge (yes I’m behind, no I’m not upset). 

The City We Became by N K Jemisin

“B, if you get killed, or eaten, or… squiggleized, or whateverthefuck, I’m gonna kill you” (386)

I don’t know if this quote really encompasses the story but I laughed so hard when I read it. I was already consistently reading the book but I couldn’t put it down at this point. 

The title definitely embodies the story. When I found this book, I didn’t really know what to expect. I didn’t read any background about it; I just heard it was a good read an ran with it. I won’t give too many details but it’s a sci-fi adventure with some very relatable characters. It was beautiful to see how everything connected. I was little confused at the beginning but it all came together. It was also a very easy/quick read - only 488 pages! 

I’d recommend this book if you’re looking for something fun to read, love New York City or want some everyday queer POC representation. 

PS MC Free and Coda were my favorite characters!
