Russia and Ukraine have carried out a new prisoner exchange, with both sides confirming that the operation was facilitated by mediation from the United Arab Emirates.⁣

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the core exchange followed a “246 for 246” format. In addition, Russia stated that 31 wounded Ukrainian prisoners of war were transferred in exchange for 15 wounded Russian servicemen requiring urgent medical treatment.⁣
Russian officials reported that the returned servicemen are currently in Belarus and will be transferred to Russia for further treatment and rehabilitation.⁣

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on his Telegram channel that 277 individuals had returned from Russian captivity. He did not specify the number of prisoners handed over to Russia.⁣
Both sides publicly acknowledged the role of the UAE as a mediator in this latest exchange.⁣
