We’re almost to the end of the semester, and with that comes our final #MoodySpotlight! Meet Taylor Minister, a soon-to-be utexasrtf alum from Austin, Texas.

From a young age, Taylor knew film was her calling. “My dad’s little red Sony camcorder was practically glued to my hand! Whether it was filming little shows with my sister on Photo Booth or editing our high school senior video, I always knew I had to major in film. And RTF was the perfect intersection for my love of storytelling and capturing memories.”

As a CAP student, Taylor took a leap and applied internally to RTF, and it paid off. “Moody was the place I had to be. It’s been nothing short of exceptional from the professors to the resources and learning environments. Moral of the story: take the risk!”

Taylor is the social media intern for utcommstudies and utexasrtf. One highlight was covering SXSW for social. “It’s been a goal of mine to work or volunteer at SXSW. It was incredible to witness RTF in action and connect with alumni and faculty!”

She’s also interned with BackRoads Entertainment, Fremantle and DoStuff. “Fremantle has been my favorite internship because I got to move to Burbank, California, and see Hollywood up close after years of studying it!” She’s also president of Texas Lassos.

Her advice for current #TEXASMoody students is to make the most of your time on campus. “Be on campus every day if you can, get the strawberry matcha and everything croissant from Lucky Lab, use the bridge versus the crosswalk, make a LinkedIn and if you aren’t planning to already, take Alisa Perren’s Business of Hollywood Class—it genuinely changed my life.”

Her time at #TEXASMoody has shaped her personally and professionally. “My time at UT has genuinely been the best three years of my life. I’m so grateful for the people, the classes, and the amazing Moody faculty who’ve been part of this journey.”
