About a month ago, I received the news that I was no longer in remission for my ulcerative colitis. I had been in remission for the past five years and was so upset that I let my stress get the best of me between wedding planning and new home endeavors. What was really unique about my situation was that I felt no symptoms.

typically, when someone isn’t in remission, they feel symptoms, causing them to obviously feel super ill. I became part of a test study that monitored people like me who have no symptoms, but happened to have a colonoscopy that caught them at a bad time where there’s inflammation. upon doing the study, I was one of the few that had to switch medications. I’m excited to bring forth research on patients like me and to help those who suffer from this dangerous disease. 💕
