Rams take charge! Today we head to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for our Army ROTC #Cadetoftheweek!

Meet Troy Arnold III, a senior majoring in Business Management at Winston-Salem State University. 

Arnold joined #ArmyROTC to help pay for college. 

“By earning a scholarship and serving my country, I can take responsibility for my future while relieving them of that stress. Additionally, I plan to make the Army a career, serving for at least 20 years, just like my uncle did. His dedication and success in the military have inspired me to follow in his footsteps, building a life of discipline, leadership, and service.”

He is motivated to lead by his family, his faith, and his little sister. 

“She serves as a constant source of inspiration, driving me to set an example of perseverance, integrity, and success. I strive to be someone she can look up to, demonstrating that hard work and dedication can lead to meaningful achievements.”

Arnold has been part of the Campus Activities Board, a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, a Resident Advisor, and a member of the Delta Chi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. He also serves as the S4 Supply Officer for WSSU’s #ROTC program. 

“Since joining ROTC, I have gained invaluable opportunities for personal and professional growth. The program has instilled in me a strong sense of discipline, leadership, and teamwork, which have enhanced my confidence and decision-making abilities. Through various training exercises, leadership roles, and community service initiatives, I have developed essential skills that will benefit me both in and out of a military setting.”

Fun facts: Arnold serves as “Mr. Senior” for the 2024-2025 academic year, a role that is part of the student government association.
