We're heading to the Sunflower State today for our Army ROTC #CadetoftheWeek 🌻

Meet Tate Sanders, a senior majoring in Construction Engineering at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. 

Sanders did #ArmyJROTC in high school and was inspired to pursue a career in military service. 

"The program showed me so much opportunity and allowed me to grow in a lot of ways. Both my grandparents served in the military, and I couldn't think of a better way to give back to my country after everything it has done for me."

He is the #RangerChallenge captain, made the Dean's Honor Roll, and the Resident Hall Association President at PSU. Sanders is known for his positive attitude and always being the first to volunteer. 

Sanders draws leadership inspiration from his former #JROTC instructor, Wayne Cogdill.

"He was constantly pushing me to be the best version of myself, and to give my all at everything I do. The success he has had with the Leavenworth Raiders team pushes me to one day be as good of a leader as he is."

He's enjoyed every moment of his time in #JROTC and #ROTC. 

"I have had more opportunities that I ever thought I would. You have to balance academics with all the different experiences, but it has been great. The most memorable was getting to go to Sabalauski Air Assault School at Ft. Campbell, Ky."

In his free time Sanders likes to do all things outdoors and hang out with friends and family. 

After graduation and commissioning this spring, Sanders will serve as an Infantry officer.
