We’re heading down south to Florida today as we introduce our newest #ArmyJROTC #CadetOfTheWeek ☀️🌴 

Meet Megan Padron, a senior at Ida S. Baker High School in Cape Coral, Florida.

Padron is both a standout cadet and student. She is the Battalion Commander for the Bulldog Battalion and the Area Commander for the county. Padron is currently ranked first in her class, and she is a dual enrollment student who is on track to graduate with 90 college credits and an associate degree.

“I saw JROTC as a way to help me prepare for my future. My plans for my future career are to attend university and do a combination degree program, to obtain a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and a masters in aerospace engineering. After university, I aspire to work for an aerospace company like Boeing, where I can contribute to furthering space exploration.”

Since joining #JROTC, Padron has been able to complete over 100 hours of community service.

“JROTC has been able to open many doors for me, giving me the skills and confidence I need to continue pursing my goals.”

Her time in the Bulldog Battalion has shown the positive influence and change one person can have on others. This serves as her motivation each day to be a better leader. 

“Being a part of Army JROTC has shown me firsthand how small actions can lead to significant improvement within our program. This can be new initiatives, organizing events, or just offering support to someone, all of these help to create a better environment.”

Outside of school, Padron loves mountain biking, and she is a gymnast and a gymnastics coach 🤸‍♀️ 

Interesting facts: She was adopted from China and skipped the 8th grade!
