You are kind, generous, smart, and as fiercely loyal and loving as friends come. You are a beast, Elaine—when you set your mind to something, nothing and no one stands in your way.

You always say I taught you to believe in yourself, but your belief in me all these years did the same for me. You used to say, “I’m a writer”, and you are my Lanie Bean… you’re a writer—and so, so much more.
