Let’s start with gratitude: I’m so grateful to be healthy. And I hands down had the cutest race kit out there 💁🏼‍♀️… too bad that’s not the game we were playing 🫠 

This week is the 1-year anniversary of my first trip to Austin, TX to work with dr.noahmoos. That trip really marks the turnaround point in my health and it’s quite frankly been a lot of work mentally, physically, and emotionally to get to the starting lines this week.

How am I feeling about it all? I can’t lie to y’all, I’m grumpy as hell. I’m feeling irritable and judgmental. I snapped at my mom last night after the race over a goddamn parking spot. Like come on, Colleen, you’re better than that.

I’m really bad at this part of the process. I’m not injured, but I’m not race fit yet. I’m in the in-between part and I don’t know how long this will last or even if it will result in anything I will feel particularly proud of.

Getting my ass kicked by my peers (and even college athletes) is not part of my definition of fun. I know that competitive fire is part of what has gotten me this far in sport. I don’t want to wish it away. Buuuuuut it pretty much killed the “have fun” part of my goal for this week.
